Their three bathrooms still featured the original tile work and fixtures, and were in need of an overhaul.
This past summer we were contacted by a family who had been living in their Upper West Side pre-war apartment for close to thirty years. Their three bathrooms still featured the original tile work and fixtures, and were in need of an overhaul. Between husband, wife, and two teenaged children, there were many opinions to consider, ranging from a preference for classical features like the original pedestal sinks and large tubs, to glass tile and stand-up showers. Felicitas designed three bathroom options, varying from very traditional to modern, with a transitional option in between. Each option included a neutral color palette and elements that could be mixed and matched at the client's discretion to create the right look for their tastes. For example, the clients were such fans of the glass subway tile specified for Bath #2, that they considered selecting it for Bath #1 as well.
